Illinois Reads has partnered with the Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian, Jesse White, and the Illinois Center for the Book at the Illinois State Library to promote the 2017 Family Reading Night.  Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event held the third Thursday in November to encourage families to spend quality time reading together.  Each year, posters and bookmarks are made available for libraries, schools, youth and literacy organizations to promote their Family Reading Night Program.  Plan now to create a Family Reading Night program in your area.  For the annual theme, material order forms and programming ideas, visit the Family Reading Night webpage.

Everyone is invited to the launch of the 2018 Illinois Reads Program.  The Southern ILLINOIS READS Book Festival will be held at the DuQuoin High School in DuQuoin, Illinois.  Many authors will be present.  Bring your books and have them signed at the event!  Books will also be available for purchase from Anderson's Bookshops.  Please watch the website for a list of the authors attending and schedule of events to be posted closer to the launch.

Illinois Reads can also provide bookmarks and posters highlighting the ILLINOIS READS books for your Family Reading Night.  To order, email Illinois Reads at info@illinoisreads.org.
